banking and financial law reports

Banking and Financial Law Reports (BFLR)

The Banking and Financial Law Reports (BFLR), is a specialized repository series on banking and financial law matters. It is a compendium of selected judgments of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and Investments and Securities Tribunal (IST) and edited chiefly by Dr. Oladapo Olanipekun SAN. The focus of the principles in the report is substantive law rather than procedural issues of practice. This has placed the BFLR as a strategic and distinctive cache of recondite banking and financial case-law principles in Nigeria.

The BFLR is specifically designed to meet end-user objectives of streamlined principles in the banking and financial field. The principles are simplified and specialized to provide judges, legal practitioners, in-house counsel, academics and other financial sector professionals with useful and citable report for use in transactions and cases relating to banking and financial law, as well as a primary resource material for related legal research. The core areas covered by the Report includes Banking, Insurance, Fiscal Policy, Mortgage, Letters of Credit, Money Lending, Securities and Investment Disputes, Auction, Financial Crimes, Debt Recovery, Foreign Exchange, Guarantee-ship and Surety-ship, Garnishee Proceedings, Letters of Credit, International Commercial Transaction, Cheques, Hire Purchase, Financial Crime, Bill of Exchange, Interest, etc.

The Report will serve the purpose of locating relevant banking authorities in case-law faster and achieve the simplified research and academic objectives.

The Banking and Financial Law Reports is recommended to law firms, state counsel, public prosecutors, legal consultants, school libraries and government regulatory agencies.
