Drafting language that is clear, concise and understandable to the recipient is a better accomplishment than copying the long-winded language that abounds in legal drafting today. Advocacy is comprised of many disparate skills that form the core of a competent Barrister. Advocacy skills are best developed through practice; though, such practice must be preceded by thorough training, as well as an accurate understanding of essential advocacy techniques. This course will demonstrate advocacy as a skills-based criteria for litigation attorneys. It will train participants on techniques for effective advocacy in litigation and transactional representation; and equip them with skills necessary to improve their presentation, stand them out in court room and public hearings.

Transactional drafting is one of the most fundamental skills required of lawyers; though, it is the skill for which they have been most unprepared. Rather than teach Transactional Drafting as a distinct legal skill, law students are basically exposed to it in form of plain contracts, wills, and statutes; with the help of precedents. Lawyers who have not studied transactional drafting as a distinct legal skill cannot be fully prepared for the demands of transactional practice. This course offers a new, more expansive approach to learning negotiation and transactional drafting
